Day Five- Grand Tetons and Yellowstone

We began our day by driving to Teton Village through part of the park where we saw a MOOSE! I was so exited :0)

Daniel and THE Grand Teton
At Teton Village Daniel convinced me it would be a great idea to paraglide. We rode a tram to the top of Rendezvous Point, which stands at an elevation of 10,000 feet. There Daniel and I were strapped tandum to a guy and a parachute before we literally ran in the snow off the mountain. It was so cool! The view was amazing. We could see the Grand Tetons and the surrounding valley all the way to Yellowstone. We descended about 4,000 feet. Daniel and his guide reached the ground first after a few tight cork screw spins. It looked fun from above but seeing how I was already a little queasy I took the nice scenic root down. Afterwards we rode the tram back up to take some pics and do a little hiking. Next, a little shopping and a bite to eat before heading to Yellowstone.

Entering Yellowstone through the south entrance our first stop was west thumb where we went to see some geological thermal springs and a BEAR! When we first encountered the bear he was grazing in the little meadow next to the parking lot. When we returned from seeing the springs he had moved very close. There were  4 park rangers trying to coral not the bear but the stupid tourist who wanted to get up close and personal with the giant grizzle. Hello people! Haven't you seen "Grizzle Man?"  On our way to the next stop we saw some Elk and lots of Buffalo.
At the Mud Volcano's we saw some pretty cool hot springs although this area smelt like rotten eggs from the sulfur. From here we drove past some beautiful green plains and more buffalo on our way to upper and lower falls. The best part was walking Uncle Tom's Trail down to the bottom of lower falls. It was awesome! We also saw the peak of upper falls and a beautiful overlook of the canyon.

We ended our day in West Yellowstone where we found a quaint little motel just outside the park. Sharon, the sweet inn keeper, described it as “rustic but clean” but it was a great deal!!
